Unscored bursting discs
Unscored bursting discs are indeed the simplest type of bursting disc, but can withstand pressures of between 300 and 1500 bar in use without problems.
We manufacture these from stainless steel, nickel or nickel-based materials (Inconel, Hastelloy)* in various sizes up to 20 millimetres and thicknesses of 0.1 to 0.5 millimetres. The burst pressure is determined by the tensile strength and the thickness of the material used. If the pressure exceeds the permissible range in the process, the foil will rip open, allowing the medium in the pressurised system to escape safely.
These are used in applications such as cold gas inflators for airbags, where they ensure flawless functioning.

*Inconel and Hastelloy are registered trade names
